I Am Loved!
"Before they call I will answer, while they are yet speaking I will hear." Isaiah 65:24 RSV
It had been a particularly trying day and I was exhausted. Not only was I trying to do the shopping with my three children and the distractions they bring, but my mind was burdened that day with a myriad of details complicating my life at that time.
The grocery store was my next to the last stop. I hurriedly put the groceries in the car, helped the children into their seats and drove across town to my last errand.
As we got out of the car, I looked around for my purse. It wasn't in front where I usually put it. I looked in the back by the groceries, hoping I had put it there. After a futile search, I realized that I had left it back at the grocery store parking lot--in the cart!.
We got back into the car. I said a prayer and started driving. Every light was red and it took at least 15 minutes to get back to the grocery store. The entire time, I was alternately praying and worrying. I was thinking of how complicated it would be to cancel the credit card, ATM card, checking account and to get a new drivers license. I wasn't carrying much money, but we couldn't afford to loose any. I hoped that some honest person would turn in my purse and then I worried about how I would find it, or, was it gone for good?
I drove up to the grocery store. There, in the front of a grocery cart was my purse, right where I had left it in the return cart rack!
A wave of peace washed over me. Amazement filled me. God really cared about me! I felt totally and completely loved by my Heavenly Father. I believe that an angel covered my purse to show me that my Father cares for His children, including me!
